Tess McDonald and her husband, Derrick, knew that when their three children reached school age, they would want to find an education option beyond the traditional public school system. For them, their family values are at the heart of everything they do, and the ability to spend time together while learning is an important part of these values.

As such, they looked for an online learning program that would enable their children to participate in the public education system but learn at home in a flexible environment. As a certified teacher, Tess wanted an exemplary curriculum that was well researched, supported by knowledgeable teachers, and that would meet their family’s need for a structured program delivered in a flexible environment. The Miami-Dade Online Academy provides them with exactly this option.

Watch this short video to hear the McDonald family talk about their choice to educate their children through Miami-Dade Online Academy’s program.
