PODCAST: New Trends in Homeschooling and Personalized Learning

It’s estimated that there are 1.8 to 2.3 million homeschools in the United States—and this number is increasing.  New research is showing that alternative education is becoming more common outside of religious communities that have been the core of the homeschooling movement.  This next generation of homeschools appears to be in homes where parents with advanced degrees are demanding rigorous educational experiences for their children.

So what can districts do to cater to this community?

Houston C Tucker, Founder of Figment Consulting, recently spoke with Learning Outside the Lines about how districts can meet the needs of this second wave of homeschoolers.  From developing new strategies for a personalized learning environment to implementing tools that complement the homeschool experience, these are some of the key insights Tucker shares.
