Solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms. PACING One class period, approximately 60 minutes LEARN MATHCAST: DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY In this MathCast video, students see flocks of like birds being related to like terms in math. Students see how to identify like terms in an expression and use the commutative property to rewrite the expression with like terms together. Then the expression is written in simplified form by using the distributive property.
